I believe people are doing the best they can with the experiences, relationships, and circumstances that have shaped them, and that understanding those stories can open the door to meaningful change. While our past experiences influence who we are and how we navigate the world, they do not have to define our future.
I began my career in social services, spending five years working as a counsellor before moving into a program management role. After stepping away from my career to raise my three children, I returned to refresh and expand my education and am now nearing completion of my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity and compassion. I recognize that our relationships, families, and life experiences influence how we understand ourselves and relate to others. I strive to create a space where clients feel genuinely heard and understood, where together we can explore the patterns that have shaped their lives, recognize the strengths they already carry, and consider new possibilities for moving forward. I look forward to supporting clients as they work toward greater self-understanding, resilience, and well-being.
The first step would be to contact me to arrange for a brief telephone assessment to discuss the goals of therapy, ask any questions you may wish to clarify, and to get a better sense of which counsellor would best suit your needs. Once that is established, the counsellor would set up the first meeting.
